Professional Facts

  • My first job after college was with a small bank in North Carolina, where I worked in a “management training program” that started with collections. Little did I know that, in banking, “collections” was a codeword for “car repossessions.” That was my motivation to move to insurance!
  • My insurance career began in Charlotte, NC, and relocated me to Hartford, San Francisco, and now, Los Angeles.
  • I’ve always worked in casualty underwriting, but I started on the primary direct side, then moved to reinsurance, where I got to travel all over the world, and then to E&S. Without a doubt, E&S is the best!

Personal Facts

  • Blessed to be married, having four boys, one girl, and two dogs. I traveled so often for work that my oldest thought I was a secret agent until he was 15.
  • Being active is practically an addiction for me. I love doing odd jobs around the house, gardening, and going to the gym, but my passion is running.
  • I’ve been caught in hurricanes three times while on vacation to the Caribbean. One hurricane was a category five. After that storm, we had the resort to ourselves and didn’t have to wait in any lines!
  • I am a warm-weather creature, and the only time I enjoy being in the cold is to go skiing. I’ve found skiing to be a lot like golf, and I feel like I need lessons after every trip.
